The definition uses the theory of Tannakian categories in an essential way. On the other hand, Deligne also gave a description of the de Rham fundamental group which is close in spirit to rational homotopy theory à la Sullivan. The goal of this talk is to illustrate a similar picture for the de Rham fundamental group of a once-punctured elliptic curve. Based on joint work in progress with Tiago J. Fonseca (Oxford).
