Speaker: Ambrus Pal (London, UK) Date: 13/08/2021 at 10:30 Title: Multiplicative periods of classical motives over function fields Abstract: In function field arithmetic there is a highly developed theory of Drinfeld modules and their generalisations, t-motives. Many analogues of deep transcendence results are theorems in this setting. It is much less clear what sort of transcendental periods classical motives might have over function fields. Nevertheless there are such periods, they have relations to Gross-type L-functions and there are transcendence results about them. I will talk about what is known and what type of results we might try to prove next.
