Regular working hours at IMPA are from 9:00 to 5:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Once you have an IMPA ID card you will be able to enter IMPA building on weekends and holidays. To obtain such an ID card, please bring two photos 3cm x 4cm.
Fax: can be sent from rooms 329 and 208
Office materials: Paper, envelopes and office materials are available in rooms 329 and 208
Xerox copies: Second floor, near the Library.
Library: Located on the second floor. The access is granted to all IMPA students and visitors. Registered users can withdraw books and periodicals. To register, please contact the librarians.
Post Office: Visitor's research work mail will be sent by IMPA. Private mail will be charged. On either case, mail should be brought to room 210.
Computers:The IMPA computer lab for visitors and students is in room 104, aside from a few SUN Workstations located on the 3rd floor, underneath the stairwell leading to the 4th floor. There are also two computer labs in rooms 130 and 132 which can be used by visitors when they are not being used for classes.
E-mail: To open or reactivate an email account at IMPA, first go to room 208 to obtain the form and authorization and then go to room 101 to activate the account.
Telephone: Local calls can be made directly from the offices: dial 0 and wait for an outside line. For long-distance calls, please contact the operator by dialing 9 or 5000.
Restaurant: The IMPA restaurant is open from 7:30 to 6:00pm. Another option near IMPA is Couve Flor, at Pacheco Leão Street 724, Jardim Botânico.
Coffee, Tea: The coffee room, on the 2nd floor, will be open from 9:00 to 5:00 pm.
Bank: There is a Banco do Brasil agency on the 1st floor at IMPA, open regularly from noon to 3:00 p.m.
Before you leave please do not forget to:
- Return your office and mailbox keys
- Return all the books to the library
- Pay your phone bills
- Prepare a brief report of your actvities during your stay at IMPA.
