The Anima Escola Project

ANIMA ESCOLA is a project which offers animation workshops for students and teachers from municipal schools of Rio de Janeiro.

ANIMA ESCOLA is a version of Open Studio (workshops of Anima Mundi Festival) specially developed for schools. Teachers and students can produce short animated videos using characters made with clay or using your own body (pixilation technique), advised by specialized professionals. The final results of this frame by frame video are seem immediately. With sponsorship of IBM Brasil, the ANIMA ESCOLA project, through the partnership with IBM Reinvening Education Initiative, will expand its activities for the entire Brazil. The software MUAN for Linux, developed in a partnership with VISGRAF Laboratory of IMPA, integrates a tecnological system which allows the use of animation in schools.

IBM Reinvening Education is an innovative initiative which aims at contributing to improve the quality of public education, through making available creative technology to teacher professional development activities and public schools.
