I am an Assistant Professor at the Escola de Matemática Aplicada (EMAp/FGV ) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

My research interests are the following:

Optimal Control: In this field I focus mainly on second order optimality conditions, convergence of associated numerical algorithms and impulsive problems.

Mathematical Epidemiology: In this area I investigate, in particular, problems related to vector-borne diseases as dengue fever, Zika virus and Malaria. I apply, in general, tools arising from Dynamical Systems and Control Theory.
